WELCOME TO ALL SAINTS’, HARTFORD Whether you’re looking for a new church home or are just curious about what All Saints’ Hartford has to offer, we recognise that going somewhere new for the first time can be a daunting experience. At Hartford, our aim is to make everyone of every age, race, ethnicity, culture, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, physical or mental ability, or economic status feel welcomed and accepted. ACCESSIBILITY Our church building is wheelchair accessible. There is limited parking immediately outside the main entrance for people with limited mobility. The entry to the church is up a slope, however the church and church room are both on the same level. We also have a toilet suitable for use by disabled people. PARKING There is limited parking outside the church and street parking in The Spinney, which is within a 3-4 minute walk. There is also a small car park (by the river towards the end of Church Lane), which is within a 2-3 minute walk. HEATING The church and church room are heated during October to April ensuring it is comfortable during those colder months. CHILDREN On Sunday mornings, children are always welcome and we encourage children to share in our worship with their families. If you would like an activity bag for young children, please ask one of the welcomers for one. INCLUSIVE LANGUAGE We try to use inclusive language whenever possible and our readings are taken from the New Revised Standard Version of the Holy Bible, which embraces inclusive language as best it can. WHAT HAPPENS IN SERVICES? Sunday worship includes readings from the Old and New Testaments of the Bible, a talk (sermon) on the scripture readings, an affirmation of faith, prayers, congregational hymns and Holy Communion. We also have an organist and choir, which leads our singing and sings during the distribution of Holy Communion. WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO IN SERVICES? On arrival you will be given an order of service, a weekly sheet which contains the readings, and a hymn book. The order of service contains all the instructions and we encourage you to join in with the words in bold type. We generally stand to sing, sit during readings and the sermon, and stand or kneel during prayers as indicated in the Order of Service. If you find it difficult to stand or kneel, please feel free to remain seated. THE OFFERTORY There is a collection plate on the oak cabinet near the entrance. Any money donated is used for the work of the church. It is entirely up to you whether you contribute to the collection or not. HOLY COMMUNION All Saints’ Hartford is part of the Church of England and the worldwide Anglican Communion. At the distribution of Holy Communion, if you usually receive Communion you are welcome to do so here either as the bread and wine, or the bread only. If you are not baptised or do not wish to receive Holy Communion, you are invited to come forward for a prayer of blessing or to remain in your seat. The choice is yours. Children are always welcome to come forward for a blessing. SERVICE TIMES >> There is a service at 11am every Sunday. There are also two Communion services at 8.30am on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month, when the 11am service on those Sundays is not a Communion service. On the 1st Sunday of the month, there is a 6pm evening Prayer Service. SUBSCRIBE FOR Hartford E-Connect s
