Married to The Reverend Dr Catherine Wright, tutor at Ridley Hall Cambridge.
The Rectory, 3 Rectory Lane, Wyton, Huntingdon, PE28 2AQ
Married to Peter, I enjoy knitting in my spare time, reading and spending time with my grandchildren.
Licensed as a Lay minister since 1997, I feel privileged to worship in a beautiful church with wonderful friends.
Originally from Cheltenham, I have worshipped at All Saints' Hartford for over 30 years, during which time the church has been the place of my family's baptisms, confirmations, weddings, marriage blessing and a funeral.
I help to prepare and serve the monthly lunches and take great pleasure in meeting members of the community who join us there and at the afternoon Cup of Tea Club.
Hi I'm Linda the organist and choir leader at Hartford.
I started playing the organ when I was about 16 years old. Quite a few years ago now!
Several years ago there was no one to play at Hartford. I did my usual "I can play the organ". Yes they took me up on my offer and I have been here ever since.
My role is to help lead the musical parts of our worship. The choir are a great support to me and we are always open for new members.
Born in Offord Darcy. Married Glenys in 2002, when I moved to Hartford. We have, all together, three children, six grand-children and two great grand-children. Gardening is my passion. We also enjoy socializing, holidays and walking.
The Rev Dr Clifford Owen (Associate Minister)
Avis and I retired to Hartford in 2012 from my last job in Belgium, where I was chaplain to the English speaking churches in Ostend and Bruges. We are both happy and settled in Hartford and on retirement Avis decided to focus her worship commitment on 'The Church by the River'. I also regard Hartford as my base church but inevitably I have a peripatetic ministry around Huntingdon Deanery. We also return to mainland Europe to do locums periodically, and have already worked in Fontainebleau, Paris, Grenoble and Genova. When not ministering, my main interests are archaeology, cycle touring, and the Nene Valley Railway. Avis is a very keen gardener and works as a volunteer in Huntingdon Record Office.
I have been a member of the congregation for 17 years and was previously churchwarden for 4, I also organise the church flower arranging and I am the Safeguarding Officer. I was a Special needs teacher for over 30 years and have been retired for four. My current interests are painting, reading, staying active and family: I have two grown up children and two grandchildren.
I have lived in Hartford since 1976 and been actively involved with All Saints' for many years. I helped to run the Sunday School when my two sons were young followed by ten years as one of the Church Wardens. I retired from the education sector in 2013, having taught mathematics for most of my working life, with the final few years dedicated to running a bespoke college programme for autistic learners.
